Each year in september the VDP & Bernkasteler Ring members gather in Trier to auction their 'best' barrels of wine. We have been attending since 2010 and are delighted to bring a few bottles back to sell in Bordeaux

The 2023er Apotheke Riesling Spätlese, as it is referred to on the consumer label, with AP10 was made from clean fruit picked at 92° Oechsle on

un-grafted vines and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (79 g/l). It offers a superbly backward nose of white peach, floral

elements, smoke, fine spices, and whipped cream. The wine is gorgeously playful on the palate, where subtly creamy elements add depth to the

fresh and complex layers of fruits and minerals. The finish is juicy and quite persistent and leads to ripe melon and great spicy complexity in the

long and multi-layered aftertaste. This is a gorgeous Spätlese in the making. 2033-2048
