Each year in september the VDP members gather in Trier to auction their 'best' barrels of wine. We have been attending since 2010 and are delighted to bring a few bottles back to sell in Bordeaux

The 2021er Hofberg Kabinett, as it is referred to on the consumer label (the reference to Alte Reben is left for the back label), was made from fruit

picked at 80° Oechsle on over 65-year-old vines in a steep part of the backside of the main Hofberg hill and was fermented down to fruity-styled

levels of residual sugar (50 g/l). It offers a beautifully refined and complex nose of stone fruits, herbs, anise, candied grapefruit, smoke, and lime

tree. The wine proves magnificently playful on the light-weighted but intense and very precise palate. The finish is all about purity and freshness

and tastes already more off-dry than fully fruity. What a spectacular Kabinett! 2031-2046
